With 134 miles of railroad tracks, Aguascalientes has the longest system per square
mile in the nation, with direct lines to Ciudad Juarez (across the border is El Paso,
Texas), Mexico City, and San Luis Potosi with a connection to Nuevo Laredo. In 1991
these trains carried 359,000 metric tons of local products.
Our international airport is only ten miles away from downtown Aguascalientes
City; several national and U.S. aircarriers have daily flights to the principal cities
in Mexico and abroad.
Some 115 urban centers are well communicated through an extensive network of telephone
lines and relay stations. In 1991 there were 54,500 telephone lines, and already
plans were being carried out to supply several thousand more.
There are ten local AM radio stations, three FM stations, two local T.V. channels,
four network channels, and one cable T.V. service, with seventeen national and foreign
channels. |
