INDUSTRIAL - LOCATION
The industrial development strategy in Aguascalientes has been decisive in the migration and their families to our urban centers. In twenty years, urban population went from 59% to 71%, and industry-related employment jumped from 16% to 25%. Thus, our manufacturing sector attained an increasingly important relevance, which permeated our whole social and economic structure.
 
 

Three main activities account for 94.4% of the industrial production-machinery and equipment; foodstuff, beverage and tobacco products; and textiles and garment articles. The textile industry is particularly important, because of its sales value and the numer of direct jobs it generates.

Industrial Parks
The econimic strategy of Aguascalientes is founded on the development of fully-functional industrial parks, with special attention ot promoting companies in other municipalities, so designed in order to provide them with all the necessary services, such as telephone lines, water, sewer systems, security, and easy access to transportation of people, materials and products.

Up until now, the government and the private sector, including foreign investors, have created a corridor of six industrial parks, adjacent to road and railway lines for greater manueverability. Thanks to this infrastructure and the availability of skilled manpower, Aguascalientes is attracting prominent national and international investments (among them XEROX, NISSAN and TEXAS INSTRUMENTS), who have found in Aguascalientes the ideal enviroment for efficient and quality growth.
