Housing:
At present housing is running between $400-$600 a month for a fair-sized (3-bedroom) unfurnished house. A 1-2 month deposit is usually required plus the first month's rent. If necessary, help will be available to help you find housing and get you settled in. At times you can find houses furnished to an extent. Basic furnishings will run about $2,500 (beds, stove, refrigerator, chairs, etc...)

It is advisable to bring a washing machine but not the dryer. Be prepared to pay customs and declare what you have. Save your receipts to present to border authorities if asked.

Auto Insurance:
Vehicle insurance is to be purchased before entering Mexico (we recommend ICI). The cost should be around $200 per year (approximately, depending on the value of the vehicle). If your vehicle is worth more than $10,000, then it will cost more than $200 per year, between $225-$400 per year (estimate). This insurance covers all the normal stuff along with air vac, legal fees, and more. This is the company recommended as of April 2008 that we prefer and use. FBWWM and it's missionaries will advise you of any changes when you are preparing to come. Please contact the company for exact cost in your case. We also require that you have the legal on the insurance as well for your protection.

Passport, Tourist Visa and FM-3 VIsa cost.
You can expect to pay around $24/person at the border for a Tourist Visa to enter the country. If your you are planning on working in another latin country besides Mexico after language school then you will only need a Tourist Visa which normally are good for 180 days (6 months). You will also need a vehicle visa which will require a major credit card and a $25 fee. (Debit cards are not accepted).

FM-3 VISA
If you are planning on working in Mexico after language school you will need an FM-3 Visa which we recommend you get before you leave for Mexico if possible. At least begin the process. An FM-3 Visa will cost you around $350/person. If your kid(s) are 16 and older and plan to serve with you then we also recommend that you get one for them as well. They are good for 12 months and give you authority to operate as a missionary in the country.

PASSPORT
Also you will need a passport for each person in your family including children. A passport will run you around $150/person over the age of 16 and $130/person child under the age of 16 (estimated prices do not include cost for passport photos).
